Enterprise Data
Warehouse / Lakehouse
Data is centralized in a structured repository (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) before modeling.

Chapter 1

Galdera raises €1.5m to build financial models for reasoning, not just reporting

Galdera is the Basque word for "question."

Our team has spent years asking them in some of the most challenging modeling environments. From hyper-growth tech companies to Fortune 500 clients, we’ve built financial models for budget cycles, strategic resets, growth equity rounds, and IPO preparations. We’ve worked with industry leaders like Klarna, Bain, BlackRock, and Deloitte. Every fundraise, board meeting, and strategic decision came down to the same challenge: could we answer the questions that mattered with the tools we had?

These experiences cemented one lesson: building a great financial model goes beyond predicting next quarter’s results. Best-in-class modeling must represent two things at once: a statistical ground truth that shows where trends lead, and transparent assumptions that convey executive intent. All while maintaining version control and audit traceability. Artificial intelligence presents an opportunity to take this concept one level further. The financial model itself becomes institutional memory: context built for finance teams and the agents supporting them.

That's Galdera. Financial modeling built for reasoning, not just reporting.

Today we are thrilled to share that Galdera has raised €1.5m to build out the tools to unlock this reasoning. Led by J12, with participation from Antler and strategic Angels from unicorns like Klarna, Stripe, DeepL, and Plata - among others.

“The Galdera team has already built a powerful modeling engine in one of Europe’s most demanding financial environments. Now they’re pushing the frontier of how AI — built on a strong foundation of data, memory and context — can transform how companies plan, forecast and grow. They’re building with real ambition and craft, and we’re delighted to support them.” says Emmet King, Partner at J12 Ventures.
“Evan, Mattia & Gio embody the best type of founders we have in the Stockholm ecosystem – spinning out from extremely relevant experience at Klarna. We feel fortunate to back a team with such a perfect background to tackle this problem for FP&A teams all over the world.”, says Tobias Bengtsdahl, Partner at Antler.

We are already partnering with some of Europe’s most forward-thinking finance teams. If you are a finance leader or operator ready to stop rebuilding spreadsheets and start reasoning, do not hesitate to get in touch.
